Designs and studies were made in 1978
In 2002 BID (IDB) financed through INTUR (Institute of Tourism) the
studies for a master plan for the development of tourism along the
Pacific Coast
In Jan. 2003 BCIE approved US$800,000 for actualizing the original
studies and designs
Benefits
Provides the Southern Pacific Coast with basic infrastructure
required for its development in areas such as tourism.
Consequent tourist development generates new jobs and leaves inflows
of hard currency
Accelerates private investment already in process.

130 KM from Masachapa to the border with Costa Rica in 3 sections:
Masachapa- Las Salinas
Las Salinas- San Juan del Sur
San Juan del Sur- El Ostional- Border with CR
Estimated cost US$46.6 Million (US$45.8 for construction and
US$800,000 for designs)
2 lanes road
Pavement and Improvement of existing roadway and construction of 7.5
KM of new roadway.
